Famous Vulcans

Throughout the course of the entire Star Trek history, it is quite LOGICAL to say that the Vulcans have occupied the forefront in the set of memorable characters. Spock, Sarek, Saavik, Valeris: these are the characters who fans and non-fans alike remember as the pointy-eared ones.

Spock: Son of Sarek (Vulcan) and Amanda (Human) he is by far the most famous Vulcan and half-breed in the Star Trek World (PERIOD). He is the ultimate Vulcan: solemn, self-restrained, and, of course, completely logical. He is extremely intelligent, like all Vulcans, and possesses the several incredible abilities of all Vulcans. However, every one of these is greater than most Vulcans because of his great intellect and wisdom despite his mixed genetic composition. Spock has achieved this great wisdom because of all the inner conflicts created by his lineage. On the one hand, a great and noble Vulcan of ancient descent, Sarek, on the other, a caring, passionate and illogical human, Amdanda. Spock has also experienced what some Vulcans try to repress as a lack of logic: friendship. His friend, Jim Kirk, a human, sacrificed everything to save him and Spock realizes that it would be illogical to ignore the great affection within him. As Spock says later to Valeris: “Ozhika palik t’kau rhi shat” (logic is the beginning of wisdom, not the end).
